Dr. Kathy Graziano is a native of Phoenix, AZ, was born at Maryvale Hospital and went to Moon Valley High School. She has been a practicing pediatric surgeon in the Phoenix area since 2005. Dr. Graziano received her doctorate of medicine from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed her general surgery training at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where she was also the administrative chief resident. She continued her training with The University of Michigan Hospitals, C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, for her fellowship in pediatric surgery.

 

Dr. Graziano is the Medical Director of Pediatric Surgery at Scottsdale Healthcare-Shea where she serves on several committees to actively promote best practices for ancillary medical staff. She is also the Director of the Reproductive Anomalies Clinic at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, a multidisciplinary clinic that serves the complex needs of patients with congenital malformations of the reproductive system. She is highly regarded by her peers for her ability to coordinate the care for the clinic’s patients and their families.

 

Dr. Graziano understands the relevance of research in her field and as such is the Primary Investigator on several IRB approved studies including a patient registry for disorders of sexual development/reproductive anomalies, a study involving non-cardiac surgery on uni-ventricular pediatric patients, and a multicenter trial investigating the care of children with blunt renal trauma.

 

Dr. Graziano enjoys providing education to medical personnel through preceptoring, mentoring, and lecturing. She is a regular speaker for programs designed for residents, medical students, nurses, and fellow physicians at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Scottsdale Healthcare-Shea.

 

Her community work includes the Speakers Bureau for the Arizona Affiliate of the Partnership for a Drug Free America where she has made several television appearances, written an article for Arizona Medical Association magazine, and was also a key contributor to the web-based video segments for DrugFreeAZ.org.

 

Dr. Graziano has the distinction of performing the first thoracoscopic repair of a congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) in Phoenix at Phoenix Children’s Hospital in May, 2007. She was named a ‘2009 Top Doctor’ by Phoenix magazine, has been included in Best Doctors in America® database since 2007, and was voted by Mayo Clinic Arizona residents as Community Educator of the Year in 2011.
