Dr. McGill is a native of Phoenix and has been in practice here for over 26 years—the longest of any Pediatric Surgeon in Arizona. He is Past Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Phoenix Children’s Hospital (a position he has held for more than 7 years). He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Arizona and Instructor in Surgery for the Mayo Clinic Arizona.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), A Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), and a member of the American Pediatric Surgery Association.

The biggest accomplishment of his practice would be helping to train over 190 residents in general surgery from the Phoenix Integrated Surgical Residency, The Mayo Clinic Residency, and the Maricopa County Hospital Residency.

Dr. McGill lead a team of multiple surgeons that successfully separated Ischiopagus Tripus Conjoined Twins and was the founding surgeon involved in development of the Phoenix ECMO program. (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation—or long term cardiopulmonary bypass for babies).

Dr. McGill has been active with the Metropolitan Phoenix YMCA and especially The Camping Services Branch. He and his wife, Mary, are active at Paradise Valley United Methodist Church and with their help recently completed more than 7 Medical Mission to Piura, Peru where over 100 children have been helped with surgical care they otherwise couldn’t afford. They also enjoy spending time at their small ranch in the Colorado mountains.

Surgical interests for Dr. McGill include the gamut of pediatric surgery with a special focus on urologic conditions in children.
