Dr. McGill is a native of Phoenix and has been in practice here for over 26 years—the longest of any pediatric surgeon in Arizona. He is Past Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, a position he held for more than 7 years. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Arizona and an Instructor of Surgery for Mayo Clinic-Arizona. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and a member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association.

One of Dr. McGill's most notable accomplishments would be helping to educate and train over 190 residents in general surgery from the Phoenix Integrated Surgical Residency (Banner Good Samaritan), Mayo Clinic-Arizona Residency, and the Maricopa County Hospital Residency programs.

Dr. McGill lead a team of multiple surgeons that successfully separated Ischiopagus Tripus Conjoined Twins and was the founding surgeon involved in development of the Phoenix ECMO program. (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation, a long term cardiopulmonary bypass for babies).

Dr. McGill is active with the Metropolitan Phoenix YMCA, especially with The Camping Services Branch. He and his wife are members of Paradise Valley United Methodist Church and with their help, regularly complete medical missions to Piura, Peru. Over 100 Peruvian children have been helped with surgical care they otherwise couldn’t afford due to the kindness and generosity of the McGills and many other contributing organizations. The McGill's also enjoy spending time at their ranch in the Colorado mountains.

Surgical interests for Dr. McGill include the gamut of pediatric surgery, a special focus on urologic conditions in children, and the Reproductive Anomalies Clinic at Phoenix Children's Hospital.
