Dr. Lisa McMahon is a native of Charlottesville, Virginia. She graduated from the University of Virginia in 1992 then served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guatemala for 3 years. She returned to the US and graduated from Texas A&M medical school in 2001. Dr. McMahon completed her General Surgery training at Mayo Clinic Scottsdale in 2006 and Pediatric Surgery Fellowship training at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas in 2008. She is a member of a number of academic societies including the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and the Priestly Society. Dr. McMahon lives in Phoenix with her husband and two sons. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, running, and yoga. Her special interests are in advanced laparoscopy, Hirschsprung's disease, childhood tumors, and pectus excavatum and chest wall anomalies. Dr. McMahon is fluent in Spanish.
